In achieving HCF’s mission of enhancing quality of life in Hillsboro, HCF seeks to promote the important role of philanthropy and honor those people who invest inour community with their philanthropic contributions of time, talent and treasure. To advance this goal, HCF also seeks to increase awareness about its important work. Much of what HCF does is media worthy. HCF announces $161,589 in Community Fire Relief Grants to Bienestar and Hillsboro Downtown Partnership to get assistance into the hands of families and business owners. With $30,000 in funding, Bienestar was able to relocate, secure new homes, and provide essential services for families whose homes were destroyed in the apartment fire. The Hillsboro Downtown Partnership was granted $131,589 and is overseeing the business grant-making process as losses and needs are assessed.
HCF announces $175,000 in Community Relief Grants to Bienestar, Community Action, Family Justice Center of Washington County, Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul, Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center and Western Farm Workers. 100% of donations are being used to augment direct food, rent/shelter and health care assistance for Hillsboro residents.
